Lightroom CC & Photoshop CC
I’ve been editing with Photoshop & Lightroom for a while now and I know the basics, yay! Now that I’m studying photography I’m getting more and more into these two Adobe programs.
Recently I’ve tried to apply the ‘Frequency Separation’ technique on multiple portrait shots that I took. It’s fun once you start to learn how it’s done. Of course you can also download the action file and load it into photoshop, press the play button and it does all the layer work for you but I think it’s good if you really know how to build it from scratch. Let’s start with some basic stuff.
So I have made an Instagram photography account next to my personal. Since I’m studying photography I thought it would be ok to actually make a photography account haha. I will post photos here that I have made for the past few years and of course photos that I shoot now.
Here is my photography account > @jorihaarphotography
Follow me here if you like photography or like to look at pictures in general 🙂 Everybody’s welcome.
If you are interested in photography (or traveling) then I suggest you follow my blog hehehe 😉 share your story & tips with me and all other followers!
Social Media (what I use)
The upper two social media platforms are the ones I really use. I don’t have twitter because in my opinion it’s almost the same as Instagram, it’s just that I like to see pictures instead of text and I just love how you can scroll through someone’s feed. I don’t use snapchat because really what’s that about… Almost every blogger has an Instagram! it’s also a great platform if you want to start a small business!
Facebook is something I haven’t been using a lot lately, I only have Facebook to post photos and sometimes share a video of cats… or dogs… oh and music. I also have my family on Facebook. Some live in other countries so it’s nice to be able to keep in touch with them.
I recently made a Bloglovin’ account and linked my blog to the account of Bloglovin’. So if you have a Bloglovin’ account too then there’s a follow button on my page on the right side. I still have to figure out how it works though.
There is only one way to get more followers and that is to be active yourself, not only in posting but especially in reading in the Reader of WordPress. Comment, like, have conversations, follow blogs, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re active. People love it when they get likes or comments, I mean don’t you? I love it when people comment and give likes, that’s why I started blogging in the first place. I scroll through the Reader and I give likes and comment a lot, this way you’ll get more followers. Sometimes if you have the same subject blog/post you can comment on their post and with some typing tactic you could lead them to read your blog or follow.
commenting on someone else’s post:
me: Your photos are so awesome!
him/her: thank you, I appreciate that! 🙂
me: I have been there too, I took a lot of photos which I also posted on my blog 🙂
him/her: cool, I’ll check that out ^^
To read a post…
or not to read?
Tell me, what do you look at if you scroll through the blog? Is it the title that makes you want to read? or is it the featured photo that makes you curious and want to read a post? I’d like to know how you guys look at posts before you actually read them.
I personally get curious if I see an awesome photo (which you set as the featured photo for your post). I try my best to upload quality pictures for you guys. I also like “the more photos, the more fun it is to read the story“. This is also why I like Instagram so much! I love to scroll through feeds and watch pictures. You can find me 24/7 on IG (ok ok not really 24/7 I like to get some sleep too)
Let me know how you guys look at posts before you click on them 🙂
*the photo in this post: We did this on mother’s day for breakfast and millions of photos were taken that day haha
Cheers! and follow my blog and here on IG, I’ll follow back of course!
