Sweets and Insects

Last Monday I went to Amsterdam to photograph for my assignments for school. On our way to the zoo I saw this shop with a huge text on the window that said ‘Insectbar’. It’s a new shop that just opened the day before called Sweets and Insects (click here for the website). I’ve never tried Insects before but surprisingly enough I wasn’t that scared to try it, I didn’t even think twice, I just grabbed it and ate it.

I tried the little yellow buffalo worms first and then a little grashopper, I even bought one to take home lol. The texture is actually like chips, it’s crunchy and the real flavour comes from the herbs and not really the insect itself. I tried the grasshopper with BBQ and one with garlic.

Fotofabriek review plexiglas (2 min. read)

Fotofabriek review plexiglas product (scroll down for English version)

Inleiding

My new online shop, so exciting! (1 min read)

photography, photo, shop, prints, graphic, order

Shop is up.

I added a shop to my page! I’m selling my photos here in average/big size prints so that you can enjoy it to the max! Orders will be shipped as soon as possible. Delivery time depends on where I have to ship the item of course. It takes about 5-6 working days before it’s ready to be shipped!

  • Every sold item helps me pay a little bit of my school year which is a ridiculous amount of money. I will also put a handwritten postcard with the item with my personal greetings (as if you’re waiting for my greetings lol)

It’s new.

This shop is new for me as well as how it works behind the screen. If you notice anything that doesn’t look right please contact me by leaving a comment or email me. The only option to pay is through Paypal at this moment, I don’t think I will ever change this since Paypal is just really secure and good!

The items that I have now are only available on Fine art Silk paper with a glossy layer. I need to put more photos in my shop but for now we’ll see how it goes. I mainly opened this shop so I can use this in the near future (when I’m actually in school next year) but you can never start to early right 🙂 I don’t really expect any orders but I hope I can make more use of the shop when I start to really get into the photography business. (and of course I need to make my blog grow too sometime)

Thanks for reading and cheers! 🙂

Keep in touch with Social Media (3 min read)

Social Media (what I use)

The upper two social media platforms are the ones I really use. I don’t have twitter because in my opinion it’s almost the same as Instagram, it’s just that I like to see pictures instead of text and I just love how you can scroll through someone’s feed. I don’t use snapchat because really what’s that about… Almost every blogger has an Instagram! it’s also a great platform if you want to start a small business!

Facebook is something I haven’t been using a lot lately, I only have Facebook to post photos and sometimes share a video of cats… or dogs… oh and music. I also have my family on Facebook. Some live in other countries so it’s nice to be able to keep in touch with them.

I recently made a Bloglovin’ account and linked my blog to the account of Bloglovin’. So if you have a Bloglovin’ account too then there’s a follow button on my page on the right side. I still have to figure out how it works though.

Gaining followers

There is only one way to get more followers and that is to be active yourself, not only in posting but especially in reading in the Reader of WordPress. Comment, like, have conversations, follow blogs, it doesn’t matter as long as you’re active. People love it when they get likes or comments, I mean don’t you? I love it when people comment and give likes, that’s why I started blogging in the first place. I scroll through the Reader and I give likes and comment a lot, this way you’ll get more followers. Sometimes if you have the same subject blog/post you can comment on their post and with some typing tactic you could lead them to read your blog or follow.

for example:

commenting on someone else’s post:
me: Your photos are so awesome!
him/her: thank you, I appreciate that! 🙂
me: I have been there too, I took a lot of photos which I also posted on my blog 🙂
him/her: cool, I’ll check that out ^^
