Gran Canaria! The island life.
I have been to Gran Canaria a few times already with the family (my uncle lives there) but 3 weeks ago I actually have seen the island and now I know what Gran Canaria actually looks like instead of only seeing the pub and getting drunk haha.
Gran Canaria is actually THE place to go if you want to really really relax and have a great sun & beach mid-holiday. There’s plenty of bars & pubs to get wasted if you want to forget your office job for a while. Of course it’s not what I recommend you to do, getting wasted I mean. If you go to Playa del Inglés you’ll notice the tourism is very high, which can also be in your favour because a lot of different languages is spoken here.
The island is not really that big I mean you go from north to south in 45 minutes if you drive along the coast but once you want to go to the middle of the island it can take you up to 2 hours to get to the middle of the island.
For the first time we actually rented a car for 79 euro a day and went up in to the mountains of Gran Canaria. We went from Playa del Inglés to the point called Roque Nublo, one of the highest points of the canary island group.
if you take a taxi from one place to the next town it will at most cost you around 5 euro. so I’m not complaining.
just a side note: if you’re ever there give Mi Casa restaurant a visit (it’s been open for about a month now) and it’s one of the few modern restaurants in playa del inglés! chill and they can speak Spanish, German, English and Dutch. (it’s my uncle’s new restaurant so I have to promote it haha)
With this said I just want to show you the pictures because seriously this island has so much to offer nature wise (and alcohol-wise lol) it’s truly amazing!
